2018 Sailing Programme

Brixham to Falmouth Delivery Passage:

Serious sailing – this is a special Falmouth delivery passage for those who want an immersive sailing experience. Pilgrim will be undertaking a speedy trip from Brixham to Falmouth on the 18th June to join in the Falmouth Classics.

More suited to experienced sailors and those with a sense of adventure, this 4 day trip will involve a fast run, with hands on sailing, watchkeeping and some night passage making. You’ll be working hand in hand with our skipper and crew to get the best out of Pilgrim and to enjoy a serious sailing experience on an historic gaff rigged trawler.

Stopovers will be dependent on the weather, wind and tides but if you’re looking for an exhilarating sail then this is the 2018 short cruise for you. There will still be a chance to soak up the stunning scenery of the rugged Devon and Cornwall coast and to enjoy the marine life on the way.

Pilgrim is renowned for freshly prepared meals, snacks and hot and cold drinks which are all are included.

Leaving from Brixham which is home port to Pilgrim BM45, you will find Pilgrim moored on the Town Pontoon close to where she was originally built by the Uphams Shipyard in 1895.

Once we round Berry Head the goal will be to make best speed to Falmouth while sailing Pilgrim in the traditional manner. We will take what the weather god’s provide and sail when we can which may allow us to take in one or twoof the delightful ports along the Devon and Cornwall coast with some well earned stopovers. In her heyday, Pilgrim will have set off from Brixham headed for the south west approaches under sail looking for the best fishing grounds. If you join us this summer, you will be a key member of our experienced team who like to see her recreating those passages of days’ gone by.

You will be welcomed aboard with a light lunch before the usual safety and crew briefings to allow you to settle in and find your way around. Once everyone is ready we will round the Breakwater and the sailing adventure will begin.
