Pilgrim of Brixham sailing the South Devon coast

Channel Coasts and Islands Sailing Holiday

Get away from it all onboard our heritage sailing trawler Pilgrim of Brixham and enjoy our relaxing Channel Coasts and Islands Sailing Holiday.

July/August £849, September £749.

During  this 8 day sailing holiday we may visit Dorset, Devon, Cornwall, the Channel Islands and/or Brittany in France. The actual passage we sail will reflect guest wishes and the weather and tidal conditions at the time and , as ever, will be at ‘Skipper’s discretion’.

This will be a real adventure – not quite a mystery tour – but we’ll explore the stunning coastline and marine life of the Englsih Channel and the  delightful ports and harbours of south west England and Brittany. Bring your passport – you may need it! It is a great way to see beautiful places like Dartmouth,  Salcombe, Plymouth and Fowey or to sail across to Alderney and the French coast. You’ll see places from a completely new perspective with plenty of time to enjoy our unique heritage sailing experience.

This is so much more than a short break, it’s a complete sailing holiday and you will be able to get stuck in and experience at first hand the breathtaking beauty of traditional heritage vessel sailing.

All your freshly prepared meals, snacks and hot and cold drinks are included and our skipper and crew will be onhand to make sure that you have a great time!

What to Expect on your Channel Coasts and Islands Sailing Holiday:

Leaving from Brixham, which is home port to Pilgrim BM45, you will find Pilgrim moored on the Town Pontoon close to where she was originally built by the Uphams Shipyard in 1895.

No two sailings are exactly the same. However, a typical sailing holiday like this will either take us west around Berry Head towards Dartmouth, Slapton Sands and beyond to Salcombe, Plymouth and Cornwall, visiting picturesque anchorage points and places of interest along the way, or, it might take us East to Portland, Poole and possibly the Isle of Wight. Another option is to head south across the channel to Alderney or the other channel islands and on to Brittany.

You will be welcomed aboard with refreshments before the usual safety briefings and boat tour to allow you to settle in and find your way around. Once everyone is ready we will set sail and the adventure begins!

Weather- Wind and Tides!

This is the part of your sailing trip that unfortunately we unable to control! As a result we cannot guarantee that all destinations/experiences referred to in this description will be exactly as stated, however we will always do our upmost to deliver a great experience.

This Channel Coasts and Islands Sailing Holiday makes a popular getaway choice and promises to leave you with some amazing memories to share when you are back on land!
