For that really special family holiday, reunion or team building day why not consider a private or corporate charter?
Pilgrim is often chartered for private adventure sailing trips with family or friends groups or work or club colleagues. Charters can be from a whole day, to a weekend, a short break or an entire holiday. Private and corporate charter cruises can be planned to meet a wide range of interests and destinations. The Pilgrim skipper and crew are adept at identifying the best cruising options to suit your requirement although we always have to be prepared to accommodate the vagaries of the weather and tides. Typically our charters start from our home port of Brixham in South Devon although it may be possible to arrange embarkation in Dartmouth, Plymouth or Falmouth depending on your needs and our availability.
We have berths and facilities to accommodate groups of up to 10 passengers. Our guests are encouraged to get involved with sailing our unique 1895 heritage sailing trawler and help the crew get the best out of her. Alternatively guests can sit back and enjoy the experience and the scenery safe in the knowledge that our crew will do the hard work and sail the boat. It’s a splendid sight! Typically we cruise the stunning coasts of Devon and Cornwall with their amazing scenery, delightful harbours and abundant wildlife. Longer voyagers can include the Channel islands, the coast of Brittany or the enchanting Isles of Scilly. Day sails will more often be in the sheltered waters of Torbay or around Berry Head to the historic naval port of Dartmouth.
Our experience includes working with youth groups and their leaders for activity holidays including things like Duke of Edinburgh Award cruises. In the last year we have hosted private family holidays, company team events for staff and/or clients and youth group holidays. Our experienced skipper and crew always seem to manage to get the itinerary, activities and hospitality just right for each party.
Pilgrim BM45 is a traditional gaff-rigged Brixham sailing trawler and is the oldest surviving example that was built and rigged in the port. She has been meticulously restored by a dedicated group of craftsmen and volunteers and is now a proud member of the National Historic Fleet. Above decks she is preserved just as she would have been when she was built. Below decks we have contemporary accommodation with twin heads and showers together with a well equipped modern galley. We are licensed by the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency to sail with up to 15 passengers and crew.
